Olivier Rossel is an artist working in various constellations and forms. His artworks range from circuit-bent electronics, live-stream happenings, lecture performances, audio works, printed publications, and installations. His works are mostly rooted in inter-, trans-, *- disciplinary processes. Olivier lives in Basel, Switzerland.

As a doctoral student at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus, Germany he researches dark matter axions from an artistic point of view. Olivier, therefore, collaborates with the MADMAX-Experiment at the Max-Planck Institute for Physics in Munich, Germany and at CERN near Geneva, Switzerland.

He worked and lectured at HyperWerk, Institute for Post-industrial Design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland for five years and held lectures at the Institute of the Arts at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, Institute Trends & Identity ZHdK, Zürich University of the Arts, Kunsthalle Zürich, and School of the Arts B:B Bern/Biel.


Olivier is president of the Association Photoforum Pasquart Biel/Bienne, member of the board of Fondation Centre d’Art Pasquart and founding member of Association Terrain Gurzelen. Olivier is part of Juice & Rispetta art collective and artistic co-director of the artist-run art space Pilz Welle Lust in Basel.
